FAQ

Q. Why June 25?
A. We chose June 25 because it is six months from Christmas, arguably the biggest card-sending holiday.

Q. What was your inspiration to start Red Letter Day?
A. A few of my friends and I miss good ole-fashioned snail-mail and love finding excuses to send cards and letters.

Q. How do I participate?
A. Simply send friends and family of your choice a red letter - either on red paper or with red ink or embelishments. Feel free to get creative!

Q. Should red letters reach my recipients on June 25, or is that the post-mark date?
A. We would like them all to be post-marked on June 25 so the mail is flodded with everyone's red letters at the same time. You're encouraged to make a note on your envelope that your missive is for Red Letter Day.

Q. How many people are participating in Red Letter Day?
A. It's hard to say, since we don't require people to register in order to participate. We do have a LiveJournal community, though, where people can declare their intent to participate and even offer their mailing address to get more letters. You do not have to be a "member" of the community to post, nor do you need to have an account at LiveJournal! There is an open thread for "anonymous" (aka "no account with LiveJournal") comments.

Q. Can I help spread the word about Red Letter Day?
A. Absolutely! Feel free to use one of our buttons and link back to this page:
